For Parents

I specialise in providing psychotherapy services to children and young people. With over 20 years of experience working with young people in both education and therapeutic settings, I am highly qualified in helping young people to manage their mental health.

I am committed to meeting each person where they are at and breaking down the barriers that make it hard for young people to talk and express their emotions. I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space to talk, regardless of age. I essentially consider how you or I would like to be treated and treat young people with the same level of respect.

I also have enhanced DBS clearance, making me a safe and trusted source of support.

My Experience and Approach

I strive to make sure all young people are treated with the highest standards of care. I am committed to providing a safe environment, to ensure your young person feels supported, listened to and understood.

I am highly trained in quality safeguarding practices. At the start of therapy, I am open and honest about the limitations of confidentiality. I ensure young people understand that if they were to share any concerns around their safety that this information will be shared with parents, and others professionals where appropriate. Should any concerns arise, I take time to make sure the young person consents and feels a part of this decision making process. I am able to provide updates on your young person's progress and always ask that I have time to speak to the young person to let them know that I have been asked to speak to their parent or carer. I find this approach integral to building an effective and sustainable therapeutic relationship, in which your young person feels respected.

I have worked as senior practitioner at the award winning 42nd Street Charity for Young People, supporting a range of young people aged from 11-26 with many, often complex, mental health difficulties. I have worked with many young people who have struggled to engage with statutory services, and I am proud to have had a positive impact on their lives. I am dedicated to supporting young people, in a difficult and dynamic time of their lives, to feel empowered and supported in reaching their goals and realising their potential.

I offer an inclusive service, with experience in working with people with diagnosed and suspected ASD and ADHD presentations. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and have experience of working with a wide range of people from a diverse range of religions and cultures.

If you have any questions, or would like to find out more, I'd love to hear from you.
